Overview: The Public Works Department (PWD) has sprung into action following the directives of Deputy CM Diya Kumari to expedite ropeway development in Rajasthan. A comprehensive plan has been devised to construct 16 ropeways across 12 districts of the state, poised to significantly enhance religious tourism.
Rajasthan government is planning to build 16 ropeways at 12 tourist places (Mostly religious) to boost tourism in Rajasthan. The Ropeway plan will come to reality under the “Parvatmala Pariyojana”.
In the first phase of this tourism plan NHAI and PWD will develop ropeways in Sawai Madhopur, Banswara, Ajmer, Sikar, Dausa, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bundi, Udaipur, Rajsamand, Baran and Chittorgarh districts.
After completion of these ropeways it will be easier for people to reach several religious sites in Rajasthan.
This ropeway plan will also open many gates to bring more tourists towards religious and non-religious travel destinations in Rajasthan.
Rajasthan has hundreds of spiritual sites where millions of people visit every year.
Why Government want to build Ropeways?
Sometimes its difficult for elderly people, kids and sick people to visit such religious sites. Ropeways will help such people to reach these spiritual places with ease.
