1. Keoladeo National Park

Located in Bharatpur, Keoladeo National Park or Ghana National Park is a renowned avian paradise and a UNESCO world heritage site.

It was formerly known as the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary where Maharajas used to hunt.

Spanning 29 square kilometers, it shelters over 370 bird species, including migratory birds from Siberia and Central Asia. The sanctuary is divided into two parts, dryland and wetland.

The diverse wetlands and dense forests make it a haven for nature lovers and birdwatchers. Birds from Siberia arrives at Keoladeo National Park every year in October and stays here till March.

You can see migratory birds like painted stork, eagle, bulbuls, greylag goose, bar-headed goose, white-eyed pochard (Ferruginous duck Bird) in this bird sanctuary.

Note: From 5 October, 2023 it is mandatory to hire a tour guide if you take an e-rickshaw to see the Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary. E-rickshaw tour cost ₹800, tour guide for 2 hours also cost ₹800, total cost ₹1600.

Tip: If you want to save money then visit the bird sanctuary on foot, then you only have to pay entry fee. Downside is, you can cover a small area of the Keoladeo National Park.

Keladevi Wildlife Sanctuary is an expansion of Ranthambore National Park. It covers 676.40 square kilometers of area.

The sanctuary is named after the Keladevi Temple. Inside the sanctuary, you can see dense forests.

In the dense forest of Kailadevi you can see a variety of animals, including chinkara, wild hog, and jackal.
